Motorist fined after near-miss with truck

A St George’s man who narrowly missed colliding with a heavy truck while out on the roads came away from Magistrates’ Court yesterday with an $800 fine.

Causewell Robinson, 67, admitted driving a car without due care and attention.

The court heard that police watched Robinson almost collide with a truck when he entered the westbound lane of traffic while heading east along Middle Road, Smith’s, in July 2024.

Officers followed Robinson to Kindley Field Road in St George’s, where he was arrested for careless driving.

In addition to the fine, Robinson had ten points added to his licence.
