Build Summit to highlight development opportunities
The Urban Development Authority, in partnership with the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation, has rebranded its annual development conference to the Bermuda Urban Infrastructure and Land Development Summit 2026, or Build.
Formerly the Bermuda Infrastructure and Development Summit or Bid, the event’s new identity reflects an expanded focus on urban infrastructure, land development and investment opportunities across Bermuda.
The summit will take place May 6 to 7 at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute under the theme Unlocking Investment Opportunities.
Bringing together government leaders, developers, investors and industry professionals, the summit will explore key issues shaping Bermuda’s future, including housing, infrastructure, financing and innovative construction methods.
The keynote speaker will be Eleanor Sharpe, a United States-based urban planning leader and principal of Sharpe Solutions.
A spokesman for the event said she will bring extensive experience in land use, policy and community development.
The programme will feature panels on global and local financing, alternative construction methods and hotel development, alongside presentations from government leaders on Bermuda’s housing strategy and long-term planning.
Attendees will also experience innovative showcases, including AI-driven design tools and discussions on emerging concepts such as Paradise Mobile’s blueprint for high density high performance infrastructure.
“The evolution from Bid to Build reflects a broader vision for Bermuda’s development,” Ray Jones, director of the Economic Development Department said. “This summit is about connecting people, idea and investment opportunities that will drive real progress.”
