Man jailed for threatening to stab former housemate
A man who threatened to stab his former housemate has been sentenced to four months in prison.
Shane Todd, 50, admitted the offence when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that the victim, Austin Simons, contacted police on October 23 last year after noticing that some of his clothing was missing from his Warwick apartment.
Todd threatened to stab Mr Simons and “leave [his] blood all over the apartment” on October 24, after learning that the police were called.
Counsels agreed that Todd, of no fixed address, be jailed for four months for the offence.
Defence lawyer Paul Wilson said his client and Mr Simons, whose clothing was returned to the apartment, had “butted heads” for some time.
Todd has several previous convictions and is remanded in custody for unrelated matters.
He apologised for his actions before magistrate Auralee Cassidy delivered the sentence.
