Butterfield Bank’s participation at the Bermuda Captive Conference included a portion of their exhibit dedicated to promoting Bermuda’s PGA Tour event, held every autumn at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton.

Butterfield is the title sponsor for the prestigious sporting event, which attracts some of the world’s best professional golfers.

Today’s world number one golfer, Dallas native, Scottie Scheffler, set a course record 9-under 62 during the inaugural event in 2019. The tournament mark has since been eclipsed three times by a single shot.

Insurance executives at this week’s captive conference were greeted at the Princess Hotel & Beach Club exhibit hall by Jevon Roberts of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

Mr Roberts said the Butterfield exhibit was well-received as the tournament seeks a higher profile in the community: “There are quite a few people in here that we know already and it is always nice to get new people in, and continue to grow the event. This is one of the ways that we felt was a good way to do that.”
