An international event that brings together growing companies and potential investors opens in Hamilton today.

The Bermuda Capital Event, organised by Vancouver-based CEM, will feature a series of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club on Saturday.

Company representatives stay in their 10ft-by-8ft meeting space, while investors rotate every 20 minutes, CEM states on its website.

The event will feature growth-stage companies from multiple sectors, including resource, technology, biotech, and blockchain, individuals through a day of 18 scheduled one-on-one meetings.

Investors include portfolio managers, institutional and retail investors, family offices, and accredited investors.

This is the third annual event that CEM has held in Bermuda. It is one of seven events with the other six held in North America, plus the Bahamas.

CEM was cofounded by Neil Currie and Howard Fitch to provide unique opportunities to build relationships with key contacts in the investment community.

An Instagram post by CEM features names of 54 participating companies, many of which are listed on Toronto’s TSX Venture Exchange, for the sold-out event.

These include Aftermath Silver, a miner pursuing three projects in South America, and GH Power, a firm that builds compact and scalable modular hydrogen reactors designed to work on site to deliver zero-emission energy.
