Team Bermuda secure pole position in Missouri

IHRA Offshore Series Championship Super Stock points leaders Team Bermuda will start today’s Shootout Offshore on Lake of Ozarks in Missouri in pole position after producing the fastest qualifying time.

Boat owner and throttle man Steven Bridges and driver David Selley had the fastest time of 6min 45sec, which was good enough to earn them their third pole of the season.

They presently top the Super Stock class points standings by 27 points in the seven-race IHRA Offshore Series Championship and have stood on the podium at every race, They won the St Petersburg Grand Prix and Thunder at Cocoa Beach and finished second at the New Orleans Grand Prix in their 32ft twin-engined catamaran.

Also starting at the front of the pack in the main event is Bermuda’s other team, Nuff Said, who produced the third-fastest time during the qualifying session.

Driver Luis Martins and throttle man Nick Imprescia stopped the clock at 6min 50sec, to finish among the top three fastest qualifiers for the first time this year.

The duo are also holding their own in the Championship as they are presently fourth in the points standings, 97 points adrift of the leaders, and have finished in the top six at every race so far this year with a best showing of fifth at the New Orleans Grand Prix.
