Aeolus announces string of promotions

Aeolus Capital Management, the insurance-linked securities investment manager, has announced a slew of promotions.

The company, which has its headquarters on Wesley Street, Hamilton, has promoted seven employees across its finance, underwriting, legal and operations teams, while also appointing a graduate intern to a permanent technology role, it said in an announcement on LinkedIn.

Among the most senior appointments, Kristin Alexander has been promoted to senior vice-president, head of human resources and operations, after 18 years with Aeolus. Since joining Aeolus in July 2008, Ms Alexander has held a number of administrative, HR and operations oversight roles.

Zahid Ahmed has been promoted to vice-president, head of tax and financial planning and analysis after almost 13 years with the company. He joined Aeolus as senior tax accountant in 2013 before becoming controller, tax in 2022. Before joining Aeolus, he spent almost six years with EY in Bermuda, progressing from staff accountant to US tax manager.

Adam Lynch has been promoted to vice-president and chief accounting officer after almost nine years with Aeolus. He joined the company as senior accountant in 2017 before progressing to assistant controller for funds and treasury in 2020 and controller in 2021. Earlier in his career, he held finance and investment accounting roles at Butterfield and Mitsubishi UFJ Fund Services, after starting out in KPMG Bermuda's insurance audit practice.

William Thuell has been promoted to vice-president, underwriting after just over two years with Aeolus. He joined the company as assistant vice-president, underwriting in May 2024 after working as an underwriter at SIG Re and previously spending almost five years with Elementum (Bermuda) Ltd. He began his career with Citi in New York before moving to Bermuda as a trader with Orbis Investments.

The company also promoted Milique Fubler to vice-president, controller — reinsurance; Tamika Williams to vice-president, controller — corporate, retro and financial planning and analysis; and Melissa Lindo to paralegal.

In addition, Sam Brangman has completed Aeolus's nine-month graduate internship programme and has been appointed IT analyst.

Aeolus said the promotions reflected the hard work, dedication and talent of its employees.
