Fine for man found with heroin

A man found last year with diamorphine (heroin), was fined $400 in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Chet Wilmot, 64, first admitted having the controlled drug when he appeared in court in March and was sentenced to Drug Treatment Court.

The court earlier heard that police found 0.07 grams of the substance while searching Wilmot, from Warwick, in May 2025.

During his resentencing yesterday, Wilmot promised magistrate Auralee Cassidy that she would never see him before the courts again.

Ms Cassidy ordered Wilmot to pay the $400 by October 2.
