A Hamilton Parish man has been charged with causing a motorist’s death by driving while impaired by alcohol.

Dante Wellman, 31, was also accused of causing the death of the same man, Stuart Albouy, by driving a car while a volume of blood-alcohol more than the legal limit was in his system.

He appeared in Magistates’ Court today and was not required to enter pleas to the offences, which were allegedly committed on Middle Road, Paget on October 21, as the matter must be heard in Supreme Court.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson sent the case to the September 8 arraignments and released Mr Wellman on $25,000 bail with a surety until that time.
