Two men were charged with having knives at Somerset Cricket Club during Cup Match.

Kenyade McQueen, from Pembroke, denied having a folding pocket knife with a blade longer than three inches, while St George’s resident Iyuan Smith pleaded not guilty to having a gold-coloured flick knife when each appeared in Magistrates’ Court today.

In separate cases, the defendants, both 24, allegedly committed the offences at the cricket club — an increased penalty zone — on Friday.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson released Mr Smith on $3,000 bail and Mr McQueen on $5,000 bail.

Both matters were adjourned to August 31.
