Fidelis Partnership appoints industry veteran
Kevin Donovan is the new head of underwriting, property binders at The Fidelis Partnership.
Mr Donovan is now leading TFP’s delegated authority property business.
The firm said he brought with him a strong relationship network and deep technical expertise to strengthen and grow its property binder portfolio.
“This appointment comes at a time when delegated authority business is playing an increasingly relevant role in London market portfolios,” TFP said.
The executive also works closely with the business’ wider underwriting teams and Pine Walk cells as part of TFP’s strategic focus on collaboration, cross-selling, and expansion across high growth markets.
He reports to Michael Davern, United Kingdom chief underwriting officer and group head of direct and facultative property and energy.
He previously spent 22 years at Ascot, most recently as a property underwriter.
Mr Davern said Mr Donovan was exactly the kind of underwriter they wanted leading this function.
“He brings deep underwriting expertise, extensive market relationships and a strong track record of building and growing successful delegated authority portfolios,” Mr Davern said. “Delegated authority is an increasingly important part of how the London market operates, and having the right leadership, governance and distribution in place is critical to doing it well and at scale.”
Mr Donovan said TFP has built a strong and highly respected property platform as the major London D&F leader.
“It’s a market that is evolving quickly, and the bar for underwriting quality and governance is constantly rising,” he said.
