Aon promotes Murray to global CCO
Choisel Murray, a seasoned captive insurance executive based in Bermuda, has been promoted to a global leadership role at Aon.
Ms Murray has been appointed global chief commercial officer for Aon Captive & Insurance Managers, overseeing growth across the firm’s captives, White Rock, commercial and insurance-linked securities operations.
Ms Murray has risen through a series of senior positions during a lengthy career with Aon in Bermuda. Before the promotion, she had served as deputy managing director since 2023.
She previously spent more than two years as senior vice-president and head of client origination, after earlier roles as vice-president and assistant vice-president, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She wrote on LinkedIn that she was “honoured” to step into the role and was grateful for the opportunity to partner even more closely with Aon’s global teams to drive growth across divisions.
“The strength of our business comes from the collective expertise and dedication of colleagues across regions, hubs and domiciles,” she wrote.
“I’m excited for what we’ll continue to build together and even more energised by the shared momentum and possibilities ahead.”
An accountant certified by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Ms Murray has represented Aon to promote Bermuda’s captive insurance sector internationally. A Bermuda Monetary Authority filing previously identified her as a principal representative for Aon Insurance Managers (Bermuda) Ltd.
Gráinne Richmond, Aon’s executive vice-president and head of captives in Bermuda, described the appointment on LinkedIn as “so deserved” and said she looked forward to supporting Ms Murray and the wider global team.
