Mangrove Property Insurance Company has widened its reinsurance portfolio with top rated companies participating in its catastrophe reinsurance programme for the 2026-2027 cycle.

The company said its reinsurance programme exceeds all regulatory and rating agency requirements, protects Mangrove and its policyholders to the 175-year return period and for events exceeding any in the historical record, includes all perils coverage as well as subsequent event protection, and includes increased aggregate cover.

A statement noted: “As with its inaugural year treaty, Mangrove received substantial capacity from several of the largest and strongest reinsurers in the world.

“In addition, Mangrove’s reinsurance panel is broadly diversified, with 44 individual reinsurers supporting its catastrophe treaty, and a total of 77 incumbent capital partners inclusive of the company’s Buttonwood Re catastrophe bond and other third party covers.

“This year’s panel includes 36 new partners, with 11 new reinsurers supporting Mangrove’s catastrophe reinsurance treaty. All of Mangrove’s reinsurance providers are rated A- or higher or have provided fully collateralised capacity.”

Mangrove founder and CEO Stephen Weinstein, commented: “We were pleased to announce the completion of our 2026-2027 reinsurance programme, Mangrove’s first renewal after our 2025 launch and initial record setting purchase.

“We formed Mangrove to be an optimised, consistent risk transfer partner and we’re grateful to be able to offer our incumbent reinsurers the opportunity to grow with us this year. At the same time, we expanded our panel with new partners from both the traditional and ILS markets.”

He added: “We’re thankful for this support of our 2026-2027 risk transfer portfolio, and the dialogue we have already started for future periods.

“We believe that the improved efficiency of our programme reflects continuing market perception of Mangrove’s strong underwriting culture, commitment to claims service excellence, and strategy to be a long-term partner across market cycles.

“We also believe that increasing confidence in both the efficacy and permanence of Florida’s insurance reforms have played a role in improving market conditions.”
