Propane gas truck involved in Somerset crash
Disaster was averted this morning when the occupants of a motorcar and propane gas truck survived serious injury after a crash in Sandys.
The Bermuda Police Service report that just before 5.30am, they and other first responders were dispatched to news of a collision on Somerset Road, just west of Beacon Hill.
“Initial information suggests that the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when they collided on the bend near the Mangrove Bay Post Office, resulting in the propane gas truck overturning on to its side,” a police spokeswoman said.
Neither driver, both of whom are male, was reported to be injured.
The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service has carried out an assessment of the gas truck as a precaution.
The roadway is blocked and traffic diversions are in effect at Beacon Hill Road and Mangrove Bay Road.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes until the collision scene has been cleared.
