Conduit Holdings has appointed Anthony Mongiello as chief operating officer of its Bermudian-based reinsurer, Conduit Re.

Mr Mongiello, whose appointment is subject to Bermuda immigration approval, succeeds Stuart Quinlan, who retired earlier this year.

He joins from Aspen, where he was COO for its reinsurance and capital markets businesses. He previously spent more than 15 years at Axa XL, including as global head of operations for its reinsurance business.

At Conduit, he will oversee operations, information technology, underwriting operations and claims, and join the executive committee.

Neil Eckert, Conduit’s chief executive, said Mr Mongiello’s reinsurance-operations experience would support the company’s growth and long-term strategy.

Mr Mongiello added: “I am delighted to join Conduit Re as COO. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team and build on the company's momentum.”
