Air conditioning works affect services at Global House
The Department of Financial Assistance is operating manually and with limited resources owing to an air conditioning issue affecting Global House on Church Street, where the office is located.
It was among “a number” of government departments said to be affected by works to replace air conditioning at the building being carried out from today until Wednesday.
Some sections were “operating with limited on-site personnel”, the Government said.
“During the air conditioning installation, temperatures within the building are expected to reach levels that may be unsafe for staff occupancy,” it added.
“Accordingly, for health and safety reasons, a number of employees will be working remotely until the installation works are complete.
“Consequently, some public services may experience temporary disruptions, delays or reduced availability during this period.”
Anyone in need of financial assistance services was asked to call 704-7620.
The Government apologised for any inconvenience.
