Holders Bailey’s Bay have made three changes to their team for the Eastern Counties final round showdown against challengers St David’s at Lord’s on Saturday.

Lazai Outerbridge, Derrick Brangman and Coolidge Durham have made way for the recalled Rodney Trott, Jermaine Usher and guest player Nyhrobi Carmicheal.

Wicketkeeper-batter Outerbridge made his debut in the competition as a colt in the previous round against Flatts, which ended in a draw, after all-rounder Trott retired from the series.

The 22-year-old has since resumed studies abroad, with Trott reclaiming his spot as Bay’s vice-captain after reversing his decision to retire.

Usher has been drafted in as cover for fellow left-arm spinner and guest player Derrick Brangman. As per county rules, St David’s league captain Brangman is locked in to play for Bay but has opted not play against his club team in the red-ball competition.

“My dad is the coach of St David’s and I’m the captain, so I won’t do that to my team,” Brangman told The Royal Gazette in a previous interview.

“If I play and Bay win, that would really hurt the St David’s fans. I’m not sure they would still want me as their captain if I did that.”

Brangman was instrumental in helping Bay reclaim the cup from previous holders Cleveland County in the first round, claiming five for 56 to earn the man-of-the-match award.

He was also chosen as man of the match in Bay’s draw against Flatts Victoria in the second round at Lord’s last Saturday after stroking 47 and claiming one for 17 in a rain- affected contest.

Southampton Rangers seamer Carmicheal has replaced opening batter Durham, who has been dropped after featuring for Bay in the previous two rounds.

Challengers and series hosts St David’s have made two changes to their team that drew with Cleveland in the final round of last year’s competition, which was hindered by a lengthy rain delay, with seamers Chare Smith and George O’Brien making way for guest players Sa-Qui Robinson and Seth Campbell.
