Bermuda High School has announced the results of its 2025-26 I/GCSE cohort, saying that the grades reflect the dedication and academic commitment of its Year 11 pupils.

The school said that of particular note this academic year was the “exceptional performance” of students who achieved exclusively within the higher achiever tier — defined as grades 6 to 9 for the Pearson examination board and A or A* for Cambridge International Education.

Eleven of 40 students secured the top-tier marks across all nine of their subjects.

In addition, the history department gained special recognition for guiding 15 of 17 students to higher-tier results, a cohort achievement that includes six level 9 grades.

The top scorers in Year 11 — Gwyneth McHugh, Ellis Champion and Iona van Niekerk — achieved 19 A or A* subject grades between them.

Paul Bennett, the deputy head of school, congratulated the Year 11 students on their results.

He said: “These achievements are the direct result of their hard work and the incredible support from our teaching team.

“Every student brings unique strengths to our community and I am immensely proud of everyone who pushed themselves to achieve their personal best.”

Martina Harris, the interim head of school, added: “Congratulations to our Year 11 students on their achievements.

“Their results reflect their hard work, dedication and perseverance, as well as the unwavering support and guidance of their teachers throughout their studies.”

The school said that the results followed the “impressive” International Baccalaureate and A-level results for the recent graduating class.

BHS also announced that all students in the class of 2026 will attend their first-choice university.
