A man has been accused of handing in counterfeit money at two Pembroke restaurants.

Damon Darrell, 44, denied tendering counterfeit US $100 bills at Wok Express and Pasta Basta as genuine currency when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Mr Darrell, from St George’s, also pleaded not guilty to dishonestly obtaining cigarettes, cigarette papers and $87 in cash from the former business on February 14, and a pasta dish and $86 in cash from the latter business two days later.

Magistrate Tyrone Chin released Mr Darrell on $3,000 bail until October 12, and ordered him not to attend Wok Express or Pasta Basta.
