Butterfield shares dip 1% in New York

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was unchanged

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed unchanged at 3,764.1 in the absence of trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

Polaris Holding Company, the parent company of businesses including Stevedoring Services, said its board had approved a dividend of five cents per share, payable on September 30 to shareholders of record at the close of business on September 25. The ex-dividend date is September 24.

Butterfield Bank’s US-listed shares fell 59 cents, or nearly 1 per cent, to close at $59.03 on the New York Stock Exchange on trading volume on 164,177 shares.
