‘Engage, empower, elevate’: Celebrating Wellness returns
The island’s youth will lead the way for a week of promoting healthy living, with the annual Celebrating Wellness to commence on Saturday.
Brought by the Department of Health, it opens with a youth-led debate on physical activity in schools, from 9am to 5pm at the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium in CedarBridge Academy.
Young people can share perspectives, experiences and ideas on boosting wellbeing and health through physical activity.
A host of events through the week offer chances for young participants to join physical, creative and leisure activities that promote physical health, mental strength and social development. It will feature vendors, giveaways and other activities.
Sporting events require registration by age group. Parents and adults are welcome to join skills sessions, drills and game‑based challenges, with all abilities and levels welcome.
The series will finish on September 25 with an intergenerational community celebration bringing youth, families, adults and seniors together through movement, music, games and friendly competition. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favourite jersey.
Residents should complete the online registration form to participate.
