Retailers have been instructed to immediately remove several products from the shelves that the Ministry of Health said pose contamination risks to consumers.

They include the one-litre Waitrose Essential Unsweetened Oat Drink, which is being recalled owing to microbiological contamination and spoilage. This may cause the drink to appear off-colour, off-odour or unsafe for consumption.

The product carries best before dates from August 14 through October 29, 2026.

The MOMA Porridge and Cereal branded products, which carries best before dates from April 24 through March 12, 2027, are being recalled because of potential contamination by mice, which presents a serious food safety hazard.

Consumers who purchased any of the affected products are urged to package the items securely and return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.

A spokeswoman said the ministry is monitoring the situation closely.

It is also working with importers and retailers to ensure that contaminated products are removed from circulation.

The ministry will provide updates where necessary, the spokeswoman said.
