Young people, youth-serving organisations and community members were urged to explore opportunities to receive financial support to back ideas, programmes and passions.

Three funding opportunities from the Office of Youth Affairs, under the Ministry of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, are available for 2026-27.

They include youth grants, youth investments and youth event sponsorships.

Tineé Furbert, the minister, said: “We are pleased to once again offer the grants to strengthen Bermuda’s youth development landscape by investing in young people, supporting organisations that serve Bermuda’s youth and helping bring meaningful youth-focused events and initiatives to life.”

Youth development grants provide funding to qualifying organisations that deliver support, programmes and assistance to young people.

The Government said: “Eligible organisations are expected to demonstrate sound governance and youth-development practices, including registered charity status, available audited statements, safeguarding and vulnerable persons policies, a strength-based approach to youth development, and alignment with the goals, objectives and strategic functions of the Office of Youth Affairs.”

Youth investments are for people aged between 14 and 24 “who wish to pursue their recreational passions and developmental opportunities in Bermuda or overseas”.

“Opportunities may include areas such as art, oration, culinary arts, science, technology, engineering and mathematics,” the Government added.

“Applicants are required to provide information about their proposed experience, including a course outline, application and/or acceptance documentation, and references from instructors, coaches or mentors within their field of interest.”

Meanwhile, youth event sponsorships are available to people and organisations hosting events that align with or support the goals of Bermuda’s National Youth Policy.

The Government explained: “Applications should include a completed application form, detailed budget breakdown, comprehensive event plan and measurable outcomes, helping to ensure supported events have a clear and meaningful impact on Bermuda’s young people.”
