The dish I can’t stop ordering
We all have one. That dish you order so often you barely need to look at the menu. The one you start thinking about before you’ve even decided where you’re eating.
Maybe it’s the perfect plate of fried rice, a steak that never disappoints or the takeaway you could probably make yourself but would much rather let someone else handle.
And in Bermuda, where deciding what to eat can sometimes turn into a lengthy group-chat debate, a good recommendation is valuable currency.
So rather than asking chefs or food critics where we should be eating, we went straight to the people and asked one simple question: What’s the one local dish you can’t stop ordering right now?
The answers took us all over the island: from pad Thai and chicken tikka to sashimi, steak, fried chicken and, of course, pizza. Consider this your next-order inspiration.
Shannon Dill: My favourite thing right now is the chicken pad Thai from Wok Express, Southampton location specifically. Just because it’s always so good, great bang for your buck and yea, I couldn't live without it if I’m being honest.
Daniel Johnson: One meal I can’t stop ordering is from Intrepid. They have this incredible steak, I think it’s a rib-eye. It’s always nice and juicy, nice and flavourful, it’s one of my best steaks that I’ve always gone to get. And they have a mac and cheese that I get along with some vegetables. It’s one of my favourites.
Lovely Lazo: One thing that I can’t stop ordering ever since I came to Bermuda is sashimi. I've never eaten sushi or sashimi before or anything raw fish, but ever since I came here [I do]. It’s so good and fresh. It's from Beluga Bar. It’s so good.
Akilah Smith: A Steak Gyudon bowl from Wasabai. Very delicious. If you want anything different, that’s the place to be.
Trae Cannonier: I would say one of the specials from PSSST, but they switch it up too often. So I’ll say chicken tikka from House of India because I’m too lazy to make it for myself.
Almaze Woods: Chicken fried rice and the mini spring rolls from Chopsticks. It’s just the best. Nobody can compete with their fried rice.
Kaya Similski: Right now, it’s from Mr Chicken and that’s because I love it. I get the three piece, or four piece. Not sure which one it is. Their cornbread is really good.
Azzar McDonald: The one thing I can't stop ordering is pizza from Four Star because it’s just an addiction and it’s delicious.
