Driver charged with injuring woman
A man has been charged in Magistrates’ Court with causing a woman grievous bodily harm by driving a car on Cedar Avenue while banned from the roads.
Earshun DeShields, 37, was also accused of driving the same vehicle while disqualified and refusing to take a breath test.
The offences allegedly occurred on Sunday and resulted in Antonieta Poscua being badly injured.
Mr DeShields, who appeared in court today, was not required to enter pleas as the case was sent to the Supreme Court.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson sent the case to the November arraignments session and released Mr DeShields, from Pembroke, on $25,000 bail with surety until that time.
Mr DeShields was also ordered to report to Hamilton Police Station three days a week and follow a daily curfew from 9pm to 6am.
