Shooting in Hamilton Parish leaves one with head wound

A male was receiving treatment in hospital for a serious head wound today after a reported firearms incident at a Hamilton Parish home.

Police were sent to the scene at about 1.35am on Sunday.

Upon arrival, they were informed that unknown people shot into a window at the residence, injuring one person.

The victim was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where at last check, he was receiving treatment for a serious head wound.

The Bermuda Police Service appealed for witnesses.

A spokesman said: “An investigation into this matter has now commenced.

“We are particularly interested in speaking with residents of Lynwood Drive, Midland Heights, Radnor Drive and surrounding areas and anyone who may have observed any suspicious activity in those areas prior to or after the shooting occurred.

“Those of you with Ring cameras or other CCTV devices are urged to please check to see whether they may have captured suspicious persons or activity shortly before or after this incident.”

Area residents or anyone with information that could help the investigation were asked to call Acting Detective Inspector Anneka Donawa of the BPS serious crime unit on 717-2250 or at adonawa@bps.bm
