Cruise ship visits to increase next year
The projected number of visits to Bermuda by cruise ships is to increase in 2027, according to information published by the Department of Marine and Ports Services.
A schedule for next year, which was released online last week, projects 209 ships to call at the island over the course of the year — an increase of 13 from 2026.
The majority of visits, 123, will be by six regular or contract ships, with the Norwegian Luna, which is expected to bring 4,224 passengers during peak season, calling 30 times at Dockyard.
In January, the Queen Anne visits on its way from Hamburg to Fort Lauderdale, while activity begins to ramp up in March.
July is the busiest period, with 28 vessels scheduled.
Visitors include Disney Cruise Lines, set to return after several years away from the island.
Cruise arrivals make up the greatest proportion of visitors to Bermuda. New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore are the most common starting points for holidaymakers.
The Bermuda Tourism Authority noted that across 2025, 467,525 passengers arrived by cruise ship, while the latest figures for the first half of 2026 totalled 235,179.
