Two people face sentencing next week after pleading guilty to separate drugs charges in Supreme Court.

At yesterday's arraignment session, Valerie Laverne Swan, 39, of Churchdale, Smith's, pleaded guilty to importing cocaine on February 24.

She denied possession with intent to supply and Director of Public Prosecutions Khamisi Tokunbo dropped the charge.

Swan was remanded in custody until sentencing on Monday when Vincent Victor Rabain will also be dealt with.

Rabain, of Club Road, Harrington Sound, Smith's, pleaded guilty to importing heroin between an unknown date and January 24.

A further charge of handling the drug will be left on his file after the 50-year-old pleaded not guilty.

Lamon Shun Simmons, of North Court Avenue, Pembroke, was bailed to appear for mention in October after pleading guilty to six drugs charges all relating to August 1, 1999.

Simmons, 25, denies importation and possession of cocaine, heroin and cannabis.

Konika Michelle Spence, 25, of Boundary Terrace, Devonshire, was bailed to appear for mention in September after pleading not guilty to importing cocaine on October 26, 1999, and possession of cocaine on November 16, 1999.

Spence also denied an alternative charge of handling cocaine with intent to supply on November 16, 1999.

Nathaniel Colin Washington, 21, of Grace Lane, Pembroke, and Janeene Lashae Harris, 20, of Princess Street, Pembroke, will appear for mention in October after pleading not guilty to charges of conspiracy to import cannabis on May 20, 2000, and importation and possession of cannabis with intent to supply on May 22, 2000.

They also denied an alternative charge of handling a controlled drug with intent to supply.

Keith Falconer, of Livingston, New Jersey, was bailed to appear for mention next month after being charged with three drugs offences -- conspiracy to import, importation and possession.

Falconer, 29, was not required to enter a plea.

Mother and daughter Marva and Takiyan Rabain were bailed to reappear for mention in September.

They are charged with possessing $280,000 worth of heroin with intent to supply.

They also deny possession of a small amount of cannabis and having drug equipment on January 25 at their Somersall Road, Smith's home.

Clarence Nicole Simmons, 33, of Cottage Hill Road, Hamilton Parish, will appear for mention on September 1 after pleading guilty to four cases of forgery, six counts of uttering false documents, seven counts of burglary and five counts of obtaining property by false pretences.

Damon Ray Burgess, 24, of Hillsdale Road, Smith's, will also appear on that date after pleading not guilty to burglary, to two counts of uttering a false document and one count of obtaining property by false pretences.

David Jahwell Cox, 21, of Gables Lane, Devonshire, and Marcus Shawn Bean, 20, of Cedar Avenue, Pembroke, were bailed to reappear for mention next month after denying joint charges of robbery and unlawful wounding on July 31, 1999.

Bean also denied possession of an offensive weapon on the same date.

Shree Kandace Cannonier, 26, of Lighthouse Road, St. David's, was bailed for an October mention date after pleading not guilty to unlawful wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm on May 27 this year.

Nakia Javon Burchall, 24, of Middletown Road, Pembroke, will reappear in October after pleading not guilty to charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and burglary.
