Caddyshack mini-golf bar adds food service

Food service: Bermuda Fun Golf’s Caddyshack bar

Caddyshack Bar and Grill, the 19th hole at Bermuda Fun Golf in Royal Naval Dockyard, has added food service to the menu.

The mini-golf course and bar opened in 2013, but until now patrons have only been able to order drinks following their round.

“Now, people can come up for a round of mini-golf, have some drinks at the bar and then stay for dinner, too,” said Angela Tuzo, general manager at Caddyshack.

Ms Tuzo describes the menu as “casual, local, family” food, including fish sandwiches, fishcakes, barbecued chicken, and macaroni and cheese. A children’s menu includes wahoo nuggets and chicken tenders.

Food offerings are complemented by a drinks menu that includes the usual favourites, plus craft beers from Bermudian brewery On De Rock, San Francisco-based Anchor Brewing Company, as well as And Union, a German beer co-op that markets beers from small, regional Bavarian family-run breweries, the oldest of which has been operating for 500 years.

“We hope to bring in a featured craft beer monthly,” Ms Tuzo said. “We are trying to set ourselves apart from the typical Heineken bar.”

Ms Tuzo said the course has a strong following among both tourists and residents. It often accommodates visits from school groups, day camps and birthday party celebrants and also hosts corporate team-building events. “In the past, we organised outside caterers for our corporate clients, but now we can supply catering on site,” she said.

Ms Tuzo said Caddyshack has “a nice, chilled-out vibe. The staff here is great, they have all worked in hospitality before. You will feel like family if you stay here long enough. As long as someone is listening, one of us will be yapping — I promise you that.”
