SAILING SLG Twenty-six yachts began the second leg of Transarc `92 when they set sail from St. George's this weekend en route for Horta in the Azores.
The boats made a spectacular sight as they crossed the line under full sail with American yacht Lindisfarne, owned by John Miller in first, closely followed by Louis Morgan's Risque.
Most of the crafts had spent the past two weeks in Bermuda as guests of the St. George's Dinghy and Sports Club. But now they have to decide whether to follow the great circle route or venture further north in a search of more wind to speed the 1,800 mile passage expected to take between 12 and 14 days.
The last leg carries the participants from Azores to Puerto Sherry, Spain, starting on June 20.
