Conyers Dill & Pearman recently donated $3,000 to Francis Patton Primary School to assist in the renovation of the school's air conditioning system.

"A cool classroom helps to keep kids focused," said Ken Siggins, chairman of the Conyers Dill & Pearman staff benevolent committee.

"That extra focus will give the kids a better head-start and have a real, long lasting impact on their success at school."

Francis Patton principal Gloria Martin, who was on hand to accept the donation, said: "This donation will really make a difference."

Former XL Capital chief investment officer Christopher Greetham has joined the board of directors of Axis Capital Holdings Ltd.

Mr. Greetham Greetham, 61, recently retired as CIO of XL, where he managed a tenfold growth in invested assets over a ten-year period.

From 1982 to 1996, he served as CFO of OIL Insurance Ltd. and President of OIL Investment Corporation Ltd. Between 1975 and 1982, he served as an investment analyst and a portfolio manager at Bankers Trust Company.

In September, Axis announced veteran investment advisor Geoffrey Bell had joined the board.

White Mountains Re Group, Ltd., the reinsurance unit of the White Mountains Insurance Group, announced that C. Russell Fletcher III will join the organisation as as President and CEO of White Mountains Re Underwriting Services Ltd., the group's Bermuda-based underwriting advisory company, subject to the approval of Bermuda's immigration authorities.

Mr. Fletcher joins White Mountains Re with almost 20 years of underwriting experience in the reinsurance sector, including roles as chief underwriting officer at Montpelier Re (MRH) and chief underwriting officer - North America at CAT Ltd.

Tom Hutton, president and CEO of White Mountains Re, said: "We are thrilled to have attracted Russ to the team at White Mountains Re.

"I have now worked directly with Russ in several situations over a period of some 15 years. I consider Russ to be one of the truly outstanding underwriters in the industry."

Lindsay Founds has been appointed as a consultant to Troncossi Public Relations.

In her new role, Ms Founds will be responsible for advising on communication challenges, managing potential media crises, monitoring the media, writing press releases, newsletters and positioning statements, and liaising with the media as well as with clients.

She will report to managing director Elizabeth Tee.

Prior to moving to Bermuda, Ms. Founds worked as a Public Relations Executive for the Chandler Chicco Agency, a leading healthcare public relations agency based in New York City.

In the role, Ms Founds worked with the world's largest pharmaceutical companies to develop strategic communications plans, launch and market new products, handle crisis communications issues and manage corporate communications programmes.

As part of a global team working on consumer product and health awareness campaigns, Lindsay handled communications issues from Malaysia to California in addition to coordinating the management of globally recognised brands, including Botox and Zoloft.

Mello Jones & Martin barrister and attorney Nathan Samuels was recently called to the Bermuda Bar.

Bermudian Mr. Samuels is a three year scholarship winner, having joined the firm as a student in 2001. Since 2005 he has spent his year-long pupillage in all three of the firm's departments: Corporate, Litigation, and Property Trusts and Estates.

Mr. Samuels began his legal education at the Bermuda College in the University of Kent Law Programme in 2000.

Having completed the LL.B. Part I, Mr. Samuels continued his studies at the University of Kent in England, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts-Law and Philosophy.

In 2004, he graduated from the College of Law in London with a post-graduate diploma in Legal Practice and has since returned to Bermuda to train as a Barrister and Attorney.
