The man accused of mugging senior Josie Ray outside the Southampton Post Office in February this year pleaded guilty to the charges in Supreme Court yesterday.

Mrs. Ray, who is the wife of William (Cheese) Ray, struck her head on the ground after attempting to hold on to her purse and has been in a coma on life support ever since.

Tyone Brangman, 16, was charged with stealing Mrs. Ray's purse and its contents, as well as using violence to do so.

Yesterday, in the arraignments session, he pleaded guilty to both charges.

Chief Justice Austin Ward asked for a social inquiry report, as requested by Brangman's lawyer Peter Farge. Brangman is due to reappear in court on July 1, when the report is expected to be completed. He was remanded in custody until then.

Wayne Christopher, 17, was given three months probation in April after admitting that he received one of the credit cards stolen from Mrs. Ray.

Yesterday, Mrs. Ray's daughter Carol Culver refused to comment on the case until after sentencing, but she said her mother remained in the same condition in the intensive care unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Police are continuing their appeal to trace missing schoolgirl Nakiska Amber Robinson, who has not been seen April 14.

The 14-year-old was last seen on the morning of April 14th at Berkeley Institute wearing her school uniform.

Nakiska is known to frequent the White Hill, Southampton, area and Police yesterday reminded the public that harbouring a juvenile is against the law.

Nakiska is five feet, three inches tall, light skinned, 130 pounds, with amber hair. Anyone with information should call the Juvenile and Domestic Crime unit at 299-4280.
