Unsung heroes add 'wow' factor to hotels
Fairmont staff have been recognised for a job well done.
Management at the Fairmont Southampton and the Fairmont Hamilton Princess presented awards to unsung heroes.
Night room attendant Tamera Smith was presented the Fairmont Southampton Colleague of the Year for the Heart of the House Award for 25 years of professionalism.
The Star Employee of the Year Front of House Award was given to Deanna Van Putten based on her genuine desire to help visitors experience the best of Bermuda.
Sous chef Tejinder Bhatia received the Fairmont Southampton's Leader of the Year Award. The Company Star Employee of the Year award went to Fairmont Hamilton Princess Gold Lounge server Harry D'Costa.
Said Fairmont Gold manager Kim Piper: "It is a pleasure to have him working in our area where attention to detail and personalised service is the key to success. There are many guests that know Harry by name and will ask about him often, so in short there isn't one 'wow' that comes to mind, as most of his interactions with the guests are wow [experiences] due to his great personality and service."
Vendal Bridgeman, Fairmont Hamilton's director of security, was named Company Leader of the Year.
