Stay away from windows and doors ? head for the basement or middle room of your house

Only go out if you have to evacuate

Avoid downed or loose power lines ? report them

Check for gas leaks ? if you smell gas or hear a blowing or hissing noise leave the building with the doors open and call the gas company

Help neighbours with elderly or infants

Avoid disaster areas ? you presence might hamper rescue efforts and put you at risk

Don?t open the fridge or freezer as it will keep coolness in for longer
