Breaking News: Telemaque replaced as Cabinet Secretary
UPDATED: Cabinet Secretary Marc Telemaque has been replaced by financial secretary Donald Scott, the Governor Sir Richard Gozney said in a statement this morning.
Mr. Telemaque, who was made acting head of the Civil Service earlier this year in addition to the Cabinet Secretary’s job, is “expected to be transferred to another very senior post in Government shortly”.
The statement said: “The Governor announced today that Mr Donald Scott is to replace Major Marc Telemaque as Secretary to the Cabinet in accordance with a recommendation of the Premier and following the submission to the Premier by the Public Service Commission of a list of public officers qualified for the appointment.
“Major Marc Telemaque, who during four years as Cabinet Secretary has been praised for his ability, assiduousness, energy and discipline, is expected to be transferred to another very senior post in Government shortly.”
This afternoon, during a ceremony at Government House, Mr. Scott, was formally sworn-in as the Secretary to the Cabinet.
