Spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said a 62-year-old Fairway Drive, Warwick man's home was broken into on Saturday. The man awoke on Sunday morning to discover his dining room light on and his back door open.

Mrs. James Barnett said an undisclosed quantity of cash was removed from a hand bag.

Someone also broke into the room of some Canadian visitors, staying at the Waterloo House in Hamilton.

Mrs. Evelyn James Barnett said the visitors emptied the contents of their pockets on a dresser before they retired for the night on Saturday.

The next morning, around 9 a.m., they noticed that the cash they had placed on the dresser was missing.

A pair of heavy duty workman's gloves, a pen knife and a small quantity of cash were also missing.

Mrs. James Barnett said a "thoughtful'' thief or thieves broke into a Friswell's Road, Pembroke home on Sunday night and stole a significant amount of cash from a bedroom.

But an envelope marked "rent'' and containing an undisclosed quantity of money was left intact.

Police are investigating the incidents. They are also looking for the thief/thieves who stole a white, cast iron table and four chairs sometime between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning from the Haagen Daaz Shop in the Clocktower Building in Dockyard.

Mrs. James Barnett said the table was round and about three inches in diameter while the chairs were high-backed without arm rests.
