Breaking News: UPDATE Fifty and out for Snyman

7.40am: Wicket. Snyman goes for another big hit off Foggo, and is caught by Malachi Jones at long-on. That's a big wicket for Bermuda who will be looking to restrict their hosts to around 280. 38 overs gone and Namibia are 193-4.

7.35am: 50 for Gerrie Snyman. The big Namibian smashes Rodney Trott for another six over cow corner. Snyman’s 50 came from 58 balls, and included three fours, and two sixes. Snyman and Burger (66*) have put on 90 runs in 18 overs. Namibia are 190-3 with 37 overs gone.

7.20am: Rodney Trott speeds through an over, and here comes Chris Foggo to replace Outerbridge. Namibia are 167-3.

7.17am: Stephen Outerbridge has just finished bowling his fifth over. He’s taken one wicket, that of skipper Williams (see 6.29am) and conceded 32 runs in the process, seven of which have been wide. Bolwers Ryan Steede and Jordan Desilva are both missing from the team. I’m just saying, is all.

7.11am: 150-3. Namibia reach their next milestone with a big six from Gerrie Snyman who clubs Rodney Trott over long-on. 31.1 overs gone and run rate is hovering around five an over.

6.59am: 50 for Sarel Burger. The Namibian batsman reaches his half-century with a flick off his legs. Burger’s 50 included two fours, and came off 70 balls. Namibia 133-3

6.50am: Irving Romaine runs back on to the pitch with a heavily bandaged right hand. The former skipper got a nasty knock on his thumb in the second over, and while not really ready to field, has to get back out so he can bat reasonably high up.

6.29am: Wicket. Outerbridge more than makes up for that wide by getting the crucial wicket of Namibia skipper Craig Williams. Williams miss-times a hook shot and is caught on the boundary by Justin Pitcher.

6.28am: Hundred up. Namibia reach 100-2 after Stephen Outerbridge sends down his third wide ball in two overs. It’s taken just 19.1 overs for Namibia to reach three figures, the home side are rattling along at more than five an over.

6.12am: Wicket. Justin Pitcher makes the breakthrough, getting van Schoor to hook a short ball down the throat of Stefan Kelly at deep backward square. Van Schoor goes for 39 and Namibia are 81-2.

6.02am: Apart from a couple of half chances, where Burger and van Schoor have guided the ball just out of reach of Bermuda’s fielders, neither batsmen looks unduly trouble by the Bermuda attack. 15 overs gone and Namibia are 71-1.

5.38am: Namibia 53-1. The home side have recovered from the early loss of Rudolph and van Shoor (33*) and Sarel Burger (14*) are fairly chugging along. It’s taken them just 8.4 overs to bring up the firfty, and van Schoor is looking in fine form.

He crashed Malachi Jones for a straight six from a full length delivery, and brought up the fifty with a glorious cover drive for four.

5.08am: Wicket. Disaster for Namibia. Openers Raymond van Schoor and Gerhard Rudolph get their wires crossed on a quick single and Rudolph is left stranded in the middle of the pitch and is run out by Pitcher. Namibia 11-1

4.58am: Namibia 10-0. Jones opens the bolwing for Bermuda, and there is enough to keep him interested as the first three balls of the over are edged through the slips by Gerhard Rudolph. Jones is getting plenty of bounce.

4.30am: Bermuda have won the toss and will field in the first of two one day matches against Namibia at United Cricket Ground, Windhoek.

The home side have made several changes to the team that was so successful in the Intercontinental Shield match. Pace bowler Louis Klazinga, who took five wickets in the second innings is left out in favour of Pieter Groenewald, while spinner Toby Verwey, who took five wickets in the first innings also steps aside.

For Bermuda, Shannon Rayner makes his first senior start for his country, while Justin Pitcher is also included after coming through a late fitness test yesterday.

Bermuda: F Crockwell, C Foggo, D Hemp, S Outerbridge, I Romaine, S Rayner, M Jones, J Edness, R Trott, J Pitcher, S Kelly.
