The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was unchanged at 2,314.47 after a day with no trades.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were up 37 cents, or 0.95 per cent, at $39.37.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 10.22 points, or 0.55 per cent, at 1,845.26.

• Somers Ltd, a financial-services holding company that owns Bermuda Commercial Bank, said it repurchased 11,300 of its own common shares during January at an average cost of $14.28 per share.

Somers said the shares would be cancelled with immediate effect leaving 19,829,643 in issue as of January 31.

One Communications said yesterday that in January it had bought back 600 of its common shares at an average price of $3 for immediate cancellation.
