Parish hit by dirty dozen

Dion Stovell was among the goals for Paget Lions

A week after breaking a tie for first place, BAA are sharing the First Division lead again after their 1-1 draw at home to Somerset Eagles enabled Paget to draw level on 19 points.

D’Andre Wainwright opened the scoring for Eagles, who were fourth going into the weekend, before BAA equalised late in the first half at Goose Gosling Field.

Paget Lions seized on the BAA slip-up when they beat St David’s 4-0 at Southampton Oval where Tahj Wade and Dion Stovell were among the goals for the home team, giving them their sixth win in eight matches.

Southampton Rangers recorded the biggest win in the league this season, thrashing bottom team Hamilton Parish 12-1 at Wellington Oval.

Khalil Symonds, Donte Brangman, Ezekiel Stoneham and Shannon Burchall were among the scorers.

Rangers, the only team still unbeaten in the league, moved to within a point of the joint leaders, setting the stage for an interesting match-up against BAA next weekend.

St George’s ended a recent slump by beating Devonshire Colts 4-1 in a mid-table clash at Police Field. Jarazinho Bassett and Donavan Thompson scored for the East Enders. The win lifts St George’s ahead of Devonshire Colts in the table.

Wolves and Ireland Rangers drew 2-2 at Devonshire Recreation Club where Donte Woods scored twice in the second half to give Ireland Rangers a 2-0 lead. However, Wolves came back to snatch a point with Vincent Minors netting the equaliser.
