A thief made off with $30 from a Warwick home yesterday after one of the occupants woke up.The woman told Police that she awoke around 4.20 in the morning and saw someone in the house on Marl Lane. She alerted her roommate but the thief managed to escape.

The woman told Police that she awoke around 4.20 in the morning and saw someone in the house on Marl Lane. She alerted her roommate but the thief managed to escape.

On Monday Police attended two break-ins at private homes. At 2.55 p.m. officers heard from a Sandys Parish woman that someone had broken into her home between 8.30 a.m. and 12.45 p.m. Stolen from her Sound View Road home were: $400 in cash, $25 in coins and a quantity of jewellery.

At Serpentine Road in Pembroke, residents told Police that someone broke into their apartment and stole $140 in cash, two pairs of Nike sneakers, a Sony discman and a gold Orient watch. The break-in occurred between 8 a.m. and 8.45 p.m.

Visitor targeted

A visitor staying at a Warwick guest property lost $112 in cash to a thief. Police say the break-in occurred between 12.30 a.m. and 6.15 a.m yesterday.

Four weekend arrests

Four people were arrested over the weekend for suspected impaired driving. There were also seven break-ins, 18 damage-only road accidents and 12 crashes resulting in injury.

Fishing rods stolen

Three Shimano fishing rods and three Melton fishing reels were stolen from a shed off Brown Estates Road, Hamilton Parish. The thief entered the storage shed between 6 p.m. on Friday, July 8 and 10.20 a.m. on Sunday, July 10..
