A 58-foot sailing vessel stranded at sea for four weeks was rescued last night by a local tug boat.
The towed in the ketch-type vesselwhich was stuck west of the Island due to rigging damage, engine failure, bad weather and lack of wind.
The three people on board had ran out of food, but the brought an aid package.
The vessel was en route from Miami to the Azores via Bermuda. It was due to arrive in St. George's in the early hours this morning.
A woman who had been watching a cricket game returned to her car to find the windows had been shattered by rocks. The vehicle was parked near the roundabout by Prospect Primary School.
The woman told Police she had gone to see the cricket game at National Sports Centre at around 5.45 p.m. last Thursday and returned at 10.15 p.m.
The door was locked and nothing was stolen. A large rock was found in the front seat of her car.
A thief rode off on a stolen bike after threatening the owner with a screwdriver.
The incident occurred at around 11.30 p.m. on Thursday.
Police said the thief broke the lock on the RC100 motorcycle parked in a garage. He then forced the owner to back off by confronting him with a screwdriver.
Inquiries are under way.
A new aluminium door worth $500 and four Hagen Dazs ice creams were stolen from the Heard Chapel on Glebe Road, Pembroke. The theft occurred last Thursday. Anyone with information on the incident should call Central CID at 295-0011.
Detectives are investigating the theft of eight gold rings and $150 in cash from a Pitts Bay Road home.
The resident told detectives that someone entered the house between 9.10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Monday.
A man's pants were stolen after what he thought was a dog broke into his room on last Wednesday morning.
The complainants said they went to bed around 11.30 p.m. in their guest apartment in Warwick. At 3 a.m. they were awoken by a rattling sound. Sitting up, they noticed what they believed to be a dog crawling in the room ? however then a man sprang to his feet and escaped.
The culprit stole the complainant's pants, which contained his wallet and an undisclosed amount of money and personal effects.
Inquiries are under way.
