Breaking News: Murder victim suffered from multiple injuries

Police have confirmed murder victim Shakeya DeRoza died from multiple injuries.Chief Inspector Antoine Daniels of the Serious Crime Unit told a press conference this afternoon: “An autopsy examination has been performed on Miss DeRoza by a forensic pathologist from America and he confirms she died as a result of receiving a number of wounds on different places on her body.“The Bermuda Police Service has also acquired the assistance of a blood splatter expert who, after examining the various crime scenes, was able to make a number of determinations from the walls of the residence.”

Chief Insp. Daniels said: “A 36-year-old male is currently in Police custody and investigators anticipate he will be appearing before the courts in the coming days.”

Miss DeRoza collapsed and died in front of the Rose’s Flower Shop in Middle Road, Sandys, on Friday afternoon. Neighbours say the 23-year-old mother-of-two ran from her apartment in Paynter Lane to get help but died before she could reach anyone.”
