Village look to bounce back with victory
North Village vSomerset EaglesLeague leaders North Village didn't start 2011 as they would have liked, being knocked out of the FA Cup by fellow title hopefuls Dandy Town. Shaun Goater's men will now be looking to bounce back against Somerset Eagles if they are to sustain their lead at the summit.Marlon Rojas' Eagles came on strong just before the Christmas break and will be striving to continue that form with a positive result against Village at Bernard Park. But they won't have it easy, however, as they're catching Village at a dangerous time. As they say, ‘beware of a wounded animal'.'Prediction: Village 3-1Devonshire Cougars v Southampton RangersCougars will look to get their 2011 off in winning start when they face Southampton Rangers. Both sides have had indifferent seasons so far, but with the Horseshoe Bay club needing a win to pull themselves away from the relegation zone, the match seems to be set for a thrilling encounter at Devonshire Rec.The Big Cats had a strangely subdued start to the season but three points againt Rangers could be the tonic they need to kick-start their second half of the campaign.Prediction: Cougars 2-0Devonshire Colts vBoulevard BlazersThe first encounter between these two sides was one of the best games of the season so far, and this one could again serve up a goalfest. For Colts it will be their first home game of the season having had to play all of their matches during the first half of the season away from home while Police Field was being resurfaced. Both sides posses players that can put the game to bed early, so it will be the defence that bends but doesn't break that will come out on top.Prediction: Blazers 3-2PHC v St. George's ColtsSt George's felt they were unlucky in the first game between the two teams at the start of the season and will look to get even with Kyle Lightbourne's men.Sitting pretty in the top four will have everyone at St. George's smiling, but a win over PHC would get the team closer to the second placed team in the league.PHC will have to overcome suspension issues that have been handed down by the BFA and surely will be looking to take out their frustrations on Colts.Prediction: PHC 2-1St. David's v Dandy TownThe defending champions will be buoyed by their FA Cup replay win over North Village midweek to advance to the next round and get 2011 off to a good start.Playing St David's in their first league fixture of the second half of the season will surely give the side some added momentum as they look to claw their way back in to the title hunt, as they are already seven points off the pace. The Islanders ended the first half of the campaign in some sort of form, but will need to be at the very best if they are to get a result in this game.Prediction: Town 3-0
