BSX down for the week
The Bank of Bermuda fell $6 or 18.8 percent last week, pulling The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange lower.
The index fell 176.968 points or 8.47 percent for the week. The Bank of Bermuda, the most heavily weighted stock in the index was, the only stock to end the week lower.
By far the best performing stock last week was Bermuda Container Line Ltd. which gained $1.50 or 27.27 percent to close at $7 on volume of 22,300 shares.
In the banking sector, Bank of Butterfield gained $0.15 or 0.48 percent to close at $31.25 on huge volume of 191,826 shares.
LOM Holdings gained $0.10 or 5 percent on volume of 5,000 shares, closing at $2.10
Following news that Bermuda Computer Services had been awarded a Government contract to redesign the Customs automated computer system, the stock was up $0.50 or 10 percent, closing on $5.50 on volume of 1,500. The only other stock to change last week was KeyTech Ltd. which gained $0.10 or 1.01 percent to close at $10 on volume of 3,000 shares.
