Lambe loving being among the goals
Reggie Lambe’s confidence is soaring after the Bermuda captain scored in Carlisle United’s past two Sky Bet League Two outings.
The 26-year-old scored in the Cumbrian side’s back-to-back league wins over Cambridge United and Cheltenham Town and went close in Tuesday’s 2-1 home defeat against Championship opponents Sunderland in the Carabao Cup after his volley crashed against a post.
“I’m very pleased, I want to keep it [scoring] going and keep my place in the team as well,” Lambe told the club’s website. “As long as I keep doing the simple things right and getting in goalscoring positions I know that I can put the ball in the net, so it’s just working hard to get in those positions so you get the chances.”
Carlisle moved up to fifth with their 3-0 win at home to Cheltenham last Saturday, with Lambe nodding in the home side’s second goal.
“We wanted to get our first home win and so hopefully we can push on now,” Lambe said. “We got our [first] away win last week and we just wanted to get our home win so that we have a bit of a base to work from.
“We knew we had to start strong. We had a game plan and stuck to it and I feel that all the lads now are just flowing with confidence.
“To get two wins on the bounce I think everyone is buzzing. Confidence is flowing through the team and we’re just looking forward to keep getting wins and putting points on the board.”
Lambe will be keen to get back among the goals after being denied by the woodwork against Sunderland when Carlisle travel to Sincil Bank today to face Lincoln City in the league.
