HSBC shares up 8.09%

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed 7.23 points lower at 2,063.58
Shares of HSBC Holdings rose 70 cents, or 8.09 per cent, to $9.35 after 395 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.
Ascendant Group shares dropped five cents, or 0.6 per cent, to $8.90 after 300 changed hands, while Butterfield Bank shares slipped 15 cents, or 0.4 per cent, to $34.15 after 7,217 were traded.
On the New York Stock Exchange the bank’s shares improved 13 cents, or 0.37 per cent, to close at $35.13.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed 7.23 points lower, or 0.35 per cent, at 2,063.58.
The BSX Insurance Index was also down, falling 9.94 points, or 9.52 per cent, at 1,918.11.
