Charities set to benefit from annual Aon game

Aon’s Annual Brokers v Underwriters charity match will take place tomorrow at the North Field, National Sports Centre.

This is the fourth time the event will be staged and the charities chosen this year are Tomorrow’s Voices for the Brokers and Age Concern for the Underwriters.

“This year Aon wanted to focus their charity efforts from the cricket match on charities, which promoted health and wellness in the community, with that in mind it made perfect sense for us to choose these two charities”, said Claire Salmon, joint organiser of the event.

“We are looking forward to another great day of camaraderie among the insurance market, for these two great causes”.

Duan Leverock, joint organiser, said: “Both charities represent two parts of the community that I believe need much more attention.

“Families continue to struggle in Bermuda with valuable support for parents with children with Autism or the elderly trying to exist from feeble pensions/incomes.

“These two charities provide valued assistance and should be commended for their continued work. So far the tally is Brokers, two wins, and Underwriters, one win.

“So, will the Brokers continue their dominance or will the Underwriters pull even? We will find out on July 7!”

Each team is made up of a mixture of companies, the only event on the island where business rivals work together to form two clear sides. Participating companies include Chubb, Markel, Hamilton Re, Hannover Re and Argo.

The match is being umpired by Mark McCormack and Steven Caines.
