A boy has been transported to hospital following a motocross cycle crash in Pembroke this afternoon.

It happened on the grounds of West Pembroke Primary School shortly before 2.30pm.

Details surrounding the crash were limited, police said.

“Initial information suggests that the rider, believed to be an eight-year-old boy, was injured and taken to hospital via ambulance for treatment,” police said.

The child was expected to be admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
