Denis James Davis, 41, of Hamilton Parish, appeared before Senior Magistrate Will Francis yesterday and pleaded not guilty to assaulting his ex-wife Penelope Davis.

He also pleaded not guilty to entering her house in the nighttime and stalking her in Devonshire between February 21 and 22.

Davis, represented by lawyer Juan Wolffe, also denied a fourth charge of destroying property in the home between those dates.

Davis was remanded in custody and will return to court for trial on March 23.

In a separate case, 52-year-old Melvin Santucci was charged on Monday with stalking Christine Evette Pearman on two occasions.

Santucci, of Pearman's Hill, Warwick, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates' Court to stalking Ms Pearman on February 5 in Devonshire and Smith's Parish. He also denied stalking her on February 11 in Southampton.

His lawyer, Kim Wilson, asked that Santucci be tried separately for the offences since they are alleged to have occurred on different dates.

Mr. Francis set trial dates of May 12 for the February 5 offence and June 1 for the February 11 offence and rleased Santucci on $500 bail.
