Nesbeth nets in Florida victory

Bermudian LeiLanni Nesbeth scored her third goal of the season as Florida State University beat the University of Pittsburgh 4-1 on Thursday night in Pittsburg.

Nesbeth opened the scoring in the ninth minute when she collected a pass from Malia Berkely 30 yards out. With her back to goal, the sophomore turned before firing a right-footed shot into the bottom corner.

Pittsburgh levelled through Madison Clayton in the 45th minute.

Florida regained the lead in the 56th minute through a Kristina Lynch header.

Florida State extended their advantage in the 69th minute courtesy of Jenna Nighswonger’s second goal of the season.

She then doubled her tally, scoring again in the 80th minute to wrap up proceedings.

Florida State have scored a new team record 18 goals in their first five conference games.
